Samuel Barbas is an award-winning Australian actor, director, and writer. He is best known for developing the Australian feature "Natalie Was A Friend Of Mine".

Born in Perth, Western Australia, to Greek parents, Samuel transitioned from a background in professional soccer and civil engineering to study acting at a West Australian acting school, driven by his love of films and all things screen.

Praise for Samuel’s previous roles cite him as a “vulnerable,” “visceral,” and “raw” performer who was  a finalist for the Atlantic Acting School Scholarship (2024) ,  Carmen Duncan Scholarship (2023)  and Equity’s Home and Away Graduate Internship by Mullinars Casting (2021).

Samuel has worked with Australian directors Kim Farrant, Ben Matthews, Ross McGregor and Peter Andrikidis.

 

Currently, he is working with acting coaches and mentors Michael Sheasby (The Nightingale), Maeve Dermody (Beautiful Kate),  Kim Farrant (Strangerland) and Larry Moss in privates.

His Favourite films include (In no particular order) - American Psycho, Blue Valentine, Rosemary's Baby, Drive, Fallen Angels, Perfect Blue, Suspiria, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Elephant Man, Buffalo 66, The Holy Mountain, Batman Mask of The Phantasm, End of Evangelion, Ed Wood, Perfect Days and Wild Strawberries.​
